Dusty, being the stallion he was smiled as Mist had taken off from him once more. The two were more than even father and daughter, they were best friends. Deciding to to take off after Mist, he laughed and kicked his heels up with a nicker and charged off after his beloved daughter, but when she cut his off, he did a stiff legged halt so he didn't topple over or land on her. Watching as the young one took off yet again; Dusty smiled and thought back to the day he came across the filly.
It was just after he was set free himself that he came across a young golden filly that had no on around. As he watched, he could see a stallion trying to herd her to his herd, yet she would not leave. Dusty had pinned his ears back and stalked to the stallion who dared to bother the palomino filly. "Why are you bothering my daughter?" Dusty had asked. The other stallion had looked Dust over and soon challenged Dusty for his 'daughter'. Dusty had taken the challenge and soon won, driving the stallion away. Turning to the filly, he said, "I thought that was the best way to get rid of him and he'd leave you be." To his shock, the filly had nuzzled up to him and took comfort in him. "Would you mind if I came with you, I have no." Dusty had smiled and nodded. Nuzzling the filly, he said, "Come on, let's be off." "I am Golden Mist." the filly said. "You can call me Dusty." he said with a smile to Mist, but her reply tugged at his heart. "Okay Daddy.".
Dusty shook himself from the past and smiled as Mist had flopped over on her side. Dusty laughed but looked over to their new herd member, Diamond.
