Legend happened upon the lark forest and whinnied to let anyone know he was there. He hoped to find a mare her to start a herd back to his home. He spread his scent over the land and waited for a mare. He walked around and surveyed the forest. He found a watering hole and decided this would be a good spot to scope out for mares. He hoped he could provide them with anything they wanted. Even a foal. He took a drink and stood by a tree waiting for a mare.

Keeping her gray head low, Echosong trotted along what looked to be a lark forest. Skinny from a long journey, she bowed her head and nipped at the grass underfoot. Skittishly she couldn't stay still, bouncing at ever noise she heard, and every bird chirp that was made. Sniffing the air around her, she caught a slight scent of water, something she had been dying for, for the last few hours now. Keeping her ears perked for any danger, she broke into a canter, following the scent that made her nostrils flare.

Legend pricked his ears when he heard hooves on the ground. He waited till they got closer and nickered softly. He wondered who would happen upon this place and hoped it was someone who would join his herd.

Suddenly something else filled her nose and her ears. The sound and smell of another horse. Skittishly she froze. The nicker had sounded friendly, but who was she to be so sure? What if this horse was to run her off? Taking a deep breath she turned and trotted in the direction of the sound. Her ears flicked back and forth nervously as she stopped in front of the new horse.

Legend saw the horse and realized it was a mare. "Hello." he said softly to not frighten the mare. He could sense she was nervous and took a not so threatening stance.
